I watched an upright piano get smashed by a sledgehammer for ScaTTer GaTHer‘s music video “Eat”. The piano didn’t perish, now many more people will hear it’s glorious sounds since we’re recording it’s transformation and it will be become their video. I took my trusty ol’ Zoom field recorder and I sampled piano explosions into Maria Kohler’s and my new song. It will make a nasty snare drum on many upcoming DéCollage tunes!
hmmmemoriam, in hindsight, one highlight of Spring Break: Maria Kohler (from Mercuria and The Gem Stars) and I shared a magical night of creativity and recorded a sonic gem together in my studio. We’re still writing/mixing, it’s still a toddler, a girl with no name, but we’ll let the tune find it’s home in the world once it outgrows my laptop…in other words, you’ll meet her very soooon!
